Immunoprecipitation analysis of human GW body (GWB)-positive autoimmune sera. Analysis of human GWB-positive sera demonstrated immunoprecipitation of GW182 from [³⁵S]-methionine-labeled HeLa cell extracts (lanes 1–4), except for serum (H26) (lane 5). An approximately 100-kDa protein doublet (lanes 4 and 5) and a weak approximately 200-kDa protein (lane 4) were observed in some of these immunoprecipitations. These immunoprecipitated proteins resembled the immunoprecipitation characteristics of the Su autoantigen. Note that a control normal human serum did not immunoprecipitate any of the proteins described above (not shown).
