Compression stimulates prostaglandin E2 (PGE₂) release in mouse articular cartilage explants. Mouse articular cartilage explants were compressed (C) or not (NC) for 2 h, 4 h, 18 h and 24 h. The amount of PGE₂ released into the media (pg/ml) was measured by enzyme immunoassay.
