Lew.1AV1 rats developed disease with higher incidence (a) and earlier onset as well as a trend towards higher mean arthritic score among the affected animals (b) when immunised with citrullinated CII (Cit-CII) (open squares) than when immunised with unmodified CII (filled circles).
