Serum progranulin (PGRN) levels are significantly decreased after ameliorating the
disease with treatment. Serum PGRN levels before and after treatment in 15 patients with active systemic
lupus erythematosus (SLE) who had serum PGRN levels >80 ng/ml at the initial evaluation.
The serum PGRN levels decreased significantly with the clinical amelioration of the
disease from the median SLEDAI score of 11 to 4 after treatment.
