Controls, RA patients never treated with RTX; P23, pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine 23; pre-RTX group, RA patients treated with RTX 6 days after vaccination; post-RTX group, RA patients treated with RTX 6 months before vaccination; RTX, rituximab. The levels of vaccine-specific antibodies at day 0 were taken as 100%. On day 21, the mean increase of antibody levels in the control group was 110%. This value indicated the cutoff for vaccination response in the RTX-treated patients. Bold numbers and gray boxes indicate levels equal to or greater than the cutoff level (110%).
